  • On December 4, 2009, the New York Post reported that Berke-Weiss & Pechman filed a lawsuit on behalf of waiters at Nello Restaurant for misappropriation of tips and lost wages.

  • Berke-Weiss & Pechman filed a lawsuit on behalf of the waitresses of Hooters of Long Island for misappropriation of tips and unlawful deduction of uniform expenses. This case was reported in the New York Post and the New York Daily News on October 30, 2009.

  • Laurie Berke-Weiss has been selected to receive the Judge William Groat Award from Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations. Laurie will be honored along with fellow ILR alum Seth Harris, Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Labor, at an award ceremony that will take place on Wednesday, April 20, 2010 at the Pierre Hotel in New York City.  The Groat Award is presented annually by Cornell ILR in recognition of the recipients’ professional accomplishments and service to the School.  To learn more about ILR Cornell and the Groat Award, please click here.
